Born Learning Trail

The Born Learning Trail is a fun, easy way for parents, grandparents and caregivers to use outings to build learning critical for school readiness.By playing and exploring you help young children get ready for success in school and in life. Together, you can turn everyday moments into learning moments.

The Born Learning Trail Consists of nine stops with expert-approved learning games available, each with fun and easy activities for children and adults to do together, including:

  • Watch! Stop! Learn! Play! This stop is a chance for parents or caregivers to follow their kids' lead.
  • Talk! Listen! Sing! This stop encourages talking and singing with children, building language and pre-literacy skills critical to reading
  • Jump! Clap! Skip! Move! This stop encourages physical activity and gross motor skills, which are important for kindergarten
  • Hop! Toss! Shake! Wiggle! This stop gets children’s brains and bodies moving, building fine and gross motor skills as well as the thinking that’s key to kindergarten success
  • Describe! Compare! Learn!  This stop encourages children to think in ways that build readiness for reading and math
